I bought this book, on a summer day when I went to Target, and there was a really good sale. Pollyanna is an interesting book. It was published only four years after Anne of Green Gables, and both stories have a similar storyline: a plucky, young girl of eleven or so is orphaned and has nowhere to Pollyanna and Anne struggle with their appearance and both are received in a lackluster way, by new caregivers who aren't sure they really want them.4/5(K).
Pollyanna Grows Up is the second Pollyanna book, but the last one written by Eleanor Porter. It's a servicable read, but a lot of the charm of the first book is lost in this one.
